A CBS encomendou o píloto de uma série de TV inédita inspirada em SWAT, longa de 2003 dirigido por Clark Johnson que por sua vez é baseado em um seriado de 1975. O programa contará com Justin Lin (Velozes e Furiosos, Star Trek: Sem Fronteiras), Neal H. Moritz (Preacher), Aaron Rahsaan Thomas (The Get Down) e Shawn Ryan na produção.
O filme original acompanha uma equipe de agentes com a missão de capturar um perigoso criminoso fugitivo, com Samuel L. Jackson, LL Cool J, Colin Farrel, Michelle Rodriguez e Jeremy Renner no elenco.
Follows a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. lieutenant who is torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he’s tasked to run a highly-trained unit that’s the last stop for solving crimes in Los Angeles.

Newcomer Jim Street jeopardizes his spot on Hondo’s team when he agrees to do a favor for his incarcerated mother that endangers his SWAT career. Also, the SWAT team searches for the ruthless mastermind behind a drug trafficking ring that forces immigrants to be mules.
